VESPER SERVICE SUNDAY A huge Vesper Service wiil be held Sunday afternoon at five o'clock at the Community Cent er. The Kev. Lawrence A. Watts, of Raleigh, Chaplain at State Pri son, will preach and a chjir com posed of the choirs of all neigh boring churches will sing. The public is cordially invited to attend. See program on inside page. PET PARADE The l’et Parade, sponsored by the Garden Club, is one of the features for Wednesday. A num ber 'of pets have been entered and this is expected to prove a most interesting feature of the Festival. See program on inside page. -o PARADE EveryInidy loves a parade so be here and see for yourself what a grand parade the Rock fish Fes tival can afford. The Lions Club represented by a committee composed of l)r. W. A. Carter and C. It. Pierce, is sponsoring the parade. It is expcleed there will be fifteen or twenty floral floats and in addition there will be h- r se units, bands and other march es. The Rotary Club is in char ge of hands for the festival and parade and several wiil be pre sent. See program on inside page. Fishing Contest A committee composed of F. N. Rowe. C. I?. Shepherd and Allen Pierce is in charge oi the fishing contest which will be held from 5 a in. 1-j 11 a. nt. and front 3 p. nt. to 5,30 p. nt. each day of the Fes tival. Prizes will be awarded for the largest fish caught during those hours. See prograpt on inside page. MUSEUM A Museum, sponsored by the American I.onion, will be open each day of the Festival in the Boy Scout Hut. He sure and see the rhiiigs of interest displayed there. See program on inside page. MOTHER GOOSE JUBILEE Be sure and see the Mother Goose Jubilee tWtich will be giv en Wednesday afternoon, April 30th at five o’clock on the Pag eant grounds in front of the C im munity House by the Elementary school. Over a hundred children in costume will appear in Ihis Jubilee. Come and bring the children. See program on inside page. Miss Mabel Barnhill Miss Mabel Barnhill died at her home here last night following an illness of several months. The body was taken to her old home in ‘Beth el, N. C\, where funeral rites wer conducted from the Methodist Chur ch this afternoon at 3:30 and inter ment was made in the Bethel Cem etery. Miss Barnhill was a native o' Pitt County but had made her home here for the past several years. Jn 1906 she was graduated from the University of North Carolina and for a number of years was the only licensed woman pharmacist in North Carolina. Prior to coming here to make her home she operat ed a Drqg Store in Bethel and still maintained a ]abrato-y there at the time of hei' death. She is survived by three nep hews with whom she resided here, David Willis, Jack Willis and C. E. Willis, her mother, Mrs. M. A. Barnhill of Bethel, one sister, Mrs Evelyn Tucker of Kinston and four brothers, Joe Barnhill of Bethel, Lon Barnhill of Miami, Fla., Har ry Barnhill of Richmond and Frank Barnhill of Stella, N. C. STREET DANCE As in all festivals dancing Is important in the Kockfish Festi val and officials have attempted to make it a festival attuned to the spirit and gaiety music and dance. It is therefore appropriate that the Street Dance and Fidd lers Convention under the spon sorship of the American Legion he one of the highlights of the festival. Beginning a. 10 o'clock Tues day evening following the pag eant "America on Parade" this informal dance will continue till--!
